Karen Tamson

On November 6, 2021, I competed at Ironman Florida in Panama City Beach. The weather was extremely cold and windy which made for a tough day including the Pros. I finished in a time of 12:02:44 and placed 4th in my Age Group. This was a qualifying event for Kona 2022. I earned my Kona slot at Ironman Florida 2020, although the Ironman World Championships in Kona did not take place in 2020 because of Covid. I will be competing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona in October 2022. This will be my third time competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona.

Here are my past race results for 2021:

On September 18th, 2021, I competed at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George Utah. We had some extreme weather again with high winds, thunderstorms, rain and hail. I finished 26th in my Age Group against a tough group of competitors.

On June 4th, 2021, I competed in the Naples Fitness Challenge which is a Reverse Sprint Triathlon. I finished 5th Overall Women with a time of 1:01:03.

On April 18, 2021, I competed in Ironman 70.3 Florida and finished 4th in my Age Group 55-59 with a finish time of 5:37:04. This qualified me for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George, Utah on September 18, 2021. This will be my third time competing in the 70.3 World Championships.

On March 13, 2021, I competed in Miami Challenge Sprint Triathlon and finished 1st in my Age Group 55-59 with a time of 1:17:33.

I have also received All American Status for USAT Rankings for 2021 and have earned the All World Status for the Ironman Ranking System.

Recently, I have renewed my USAT Level 1 Coaching Certification. I enjoy coaching athletes of all levels. My passion for the sport continues to grow with my experience as an athlete and a coach.
